For our Value-based pricing (VBP) customers, we carefully meter your mParticle platform usage so you are only billed for the features and services you use.

The Usage & Billing settings page provides easy, self-service to access usage reports that break down your total credit spending per billable item for each of your mParticle accounts and workspaces.

To access the Usage & Billing page:

  1. Log into your mParticle account.
    2. \n
  2. Ensure you have an Admin & Compliance user role.
    3. \n
  3. In the left navigation, click the Settings icon and select Usage & Billing.

The Usage & Billings page presents a list of your invoices for the current calendar year, sorted from most recent to oldest, with the current month-to-date invoice at the top.

To view invoices from a different year, click the button showing the year in the upper left, and select a different year.

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Download an invoice

\n

To view an invoice for a particular month, click Download within that month’s row. Invoices are provided as Microsoft Excel .xlsx files and must be downloaded to be viewed. Both “In progress” and “Completed” invoices are provided as .xlsx files.

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n How invoices are formatted

\n

Each invoice file is organized into four tabs:

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Definitions & Calculation Logic

\n

The Definitions & Calculation Logic tab of your invoice lists the name of each product you used during the billing period and the product family it belongs to. The “Definition” column defines the specific units used to meter the product and the “How It’s Calculated” column explains how those units are metered.

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Overall Summary

\n

The Overall Summary tab contains your Usage Summary, Credit Summary, and Credit Ledger:

The Overall Summary tab is a report of your usage across all of your accounts and workspace.

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Usage by Workspace

\n

The Usage by Workspace tab breaks down your usage by each of your workspaces, denoted by the workspace ID under the “Workspace” column.

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Usage by Account

\n

The Usage by Account tab breaks down your usage by each of your accounts, denoted by the account ID under the “Account” tab.

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Invoice status

\n

Invoices will always display one of two status:

\n\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n In progress invoices

\n

An invoice with the In progress status provides a real-time report of your usage from the beginning of the billing period to the current date. These invoices always include “month-to-date” at the end of their name to help differentiate them from Completed invoices.

\n\n

In-progress invoices are intended to provide an estimate of your usage and credit consumption in real-time for the current billing period that hasn’t completed yet. When the billing period ends, the invoice is marked Completed.

\n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Completed invoices

\n

Invoices with the Completed status provide a finalized report of your usage and how you are charged for each billable item.

\n

Invoices are not marked Completed until the 2nd day of the following month. For example, your January invoice will not be finalized and marked Completed until February 2.
