RSA is a widely trusted encryption method that uses two linked keys: a public key for sharing with others and a private key that is kept secure. The mParticle Key Management tool makes it easy to generate RSA key pairs, enabling secure data exchange, authentication, and digital signatures without exposing sensitive information. The strength of RSA lies in its use of large prime numbers, making your communications and data access highly secure.

Private keys are securely stored and protected within mParticle.

\n

You can use mParticle key pairs to authenticate with certain inbound and outbound integrations.

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Integrations that support key pair authentication

\n

Currently, you can use mParticle key pairs to authenticate with the following integrations:

  1. Log into your mParticle account.
    2. \n
  2. From the left hand navigation, hover your cursor over the settings cog and select Platform under Settings.
    3. \n
  3. Select the Key Management tab.
    4. \n

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Create a new key pair

\n

To create a new public/private key pair:

  1. Click + Create New Key
    2. \n
\n

  1. Enter a descriptive, unique name for your key. You cannot reuse the same name for multiple keys.
    2. \n
  2. Select your desired key type. You can select either RSA2048 or RSA4096 based on your security requirements. RSA4096 is more advanced.

  1. Click Create.
    2. \n
  2. A Key Details window will appear displaying the Key ID and the public key of your private/public key pair. Copy the public key and the key ID for use when setting up an integration configuration.

You can always navigate back to the Key Management page to find and copy a public key or key ID.

To view the details (including the public key and key ID) for an existing key pair:

  1. Navigate back to the Key Management tab of your Platform Settings.
    2. \n
  2. Click the three dot ”…” action icon on the key pair you want, and click View Details.
    3. \n

To delete a key pair:

  1. Navigate to your Platform Settings and select the Key Management tab.
    2. \n
  2. From the list of existing key pairs, click the three dot ”…” action icon on the key pair you want to delete, and click Delete.
